Choir Christmas Events

You are probably already aware that owing to health and work committments, Dave and Candy Prodrick have stepped back from the organisational side of choir for the immediate future.  As they requested, a small group of  us has shared this out.

The Christmas music programme is in the very capable hands of our Music Director, John Cornford.
John continues to teach, cajole, inspire, encourage and generally ensure we have a lively evening!  If you used to be one of us but have lapsed, or if you know someone who might like to join for our Christmas events, here are our Christmas dates.   As ever, rehersals are Thursdays at Church of Christ, Commercial Road, just off Camden Road, at 7.15 for 7.30 usually until 8.30 – 8.45 unless we are practising for a special event. We would be very glad to see you!  We would be especially glad to have reinforcements for our outside singing events!  We will supply your music.
Our bookings for December are:
Thurs Dec 7th gather from 6.45 for refreshments then sing 7.15 – 7.45, conducted and accompanied by John, in our WW1 costumes, as part of Friends of Tunbridge Wells Museum’s Victorian Evening.
Sunday Dec 10th 2.15 for 2.30 – 3.00 p.m. approx  conducted by John Kersey and (we hope) with a recorded accompaniment, singing in aid of the Friends of Grosvenor Rec, in or outside the Hub, Grosvenor Rec. depending on the weather.
Saturday Dec 16th  10.45 for 11.00 a.m on the Pantiles, refreshments outside Oxfam Bookshop andsinging for OXFAM  at12.00
So far, our programme leans towards a Victorian theme, but we have some old favourites and some new.  Below is a flavour of what we have rehearsed so far:
Where is Love;  Consider Yourself;  Who Will Buy?  Food (from “Oliver”)
Carol of the Bells
O Come O Come Emanuel
Jazz Gloria
Gaudete
Ave Verum Corpus
White Christmas

Come and join us!  You will be very welcome!
